Sewer problems can pop up at any time, but there are a few signs that may indicate an issue with your sewer line. If your toilet makes gurgling sounds, your yard has a patch of lush, green, grass, mold on your walls, or if you notice water puddles, you may need a sewer line repair or sewer line replacement services.
A camera inspection can allow you to see the issue with your own eyes, reduces labor costs, it's faster, and much less intrusive to your property. While sometimes intrusive methods are necessary to complete sewer line repairs, cameras allow us to diagnose the issue safely, quickly, and efficiently. Did we mention it's cheaper? Camera inspections are also helpful prior to purchasing a property so you know what repairs or maintenance will be needed down the line.
In a sewer camera inspection, our technicians send a waterproof camera on a flexible cable or rod down the line, recording a 360 degree view of your sewer lines, which can identify any cracks, breaks, or clogs. The camera inspection also makes repairs easier since we are able to exactly measure where the issue in the sewer line is by measuring the flexible cable. The video footage is displayed to a video monitor in real-time, so we can assess the condition of your sewer line on the spot.
If your camera inspection shows signs of sewer line issues, you notice sewage backups, or if you noticed some of the signs of sewer problems, you may need a sewer line replacement or sewer line repair. If you notice gurgling toilets or shower drains, slow drains, frequent clogged drains, unpleasant smells, puddles in your yard, or sewage backup in the drain, you likely have a damaged sewer line.
If your sewer is not functioning properly, it needs to be repaired or replaced. Our Plano sewer repair experts can examine it and let you know which one we recommend. Occasionally the issue can be resolved by simply replacing a portion of pipe, rather than the entire sewer line.
Do you need a sewer line replacement? It's hard to tell without an inspection, but generally, we recommend a replacement if your sewer line is showing signs of aging or damaged beyond repair due to flooding, tree roots, etc. Also, if you have reoccurring issues with your sewer, it might be a good idea to invest in a replacement rather than to keep throwing money down the drain (literally) on repairs.
